Red Oldham won his 5th game of the year in Game 1, 5-1. Tony Oliva's 9th inning homer (2) was the Twins only run. Game 2 saw the Twins reverse the score on the Tigers with Camilio Pascual picking up his fourth win. He was backed by homers by Bob Allison (3) and Earl Battey (1). In game 3 the Tigers scored 6 unanswered runs in the early going including homers by Bobby Veach (10) and Lu Blue (2).
